First Ken skied up from the village of Arolla on the lower Arolla glacier, then turned off to climb up to the Bertol hut.  From there more gentle climbing to the Tête Blanche, which is at the top of the long run down to the Zermatt.  But instead Ken turned west and skied down into Italy, then climbed over the Col du Mont Brulé back into Switzerland, and finally skied all the way down the Arolla Glacier back to the village.

Next stage of the route is to the Tête Blanche ("white head" -- 3724m / 12210ft).  It's the gentle white nub in between the higher Matterhorn and Dent d'Herens peaks behind it.  Tete Blanche between Matterhorn and Dent d'Herens
